Carob Pods/ Locust BeansThese Carob Pod pieces are rather sweet and have a slight chocolate flavour (Carob powder is a chocolate substitute).Used for many thousands of years, the Locust bean is still widely used today as a thickening agent and stabiliser in many food products-such as mayonnaise.Ideal to eat this as a snack, as the pods are pleasant to chew.There is sometimes an initial ‘odour’ to these, but it is not noticable once you begin chewing.We also sell Carob powder, which is an ideal Chocolate substitute.
