2024 Rosenthal The Marker Pinot Noir Pemberton – Rosenthal Wines is a boutique winery located in Denmark on the south coast of Western Australia in the Great Southern wine region.Best mates and winemakers Luke Eckersley and Coby Ladwig have held the reins of Rosenthal Wines since 2012. With over 35 years of winemaking experience between them, Luke and Coby hold a great insight into the West Australian wine industry. The boys are inseparable and hold similar beliefs in that great wines must come from great grapes. They adopt a mix of traditional and new world winemaking practices to ensure they respect the grape and its own unique characteristics.Originating in France, the practice of planting Roses at the end of vines was common. The reason being, that Grape vines and Rose leaves are both prone to the same powdery mildew. As Roses are more susceptible than the grape vines, the mark of any mildew on its leaves was an early warning to viticulturists that disease is in the vineyard. While modern science has meant that disease can now be picked up much more quickly, Rosenthal’s “The Marker” pays homage to this quaint tradition.Deep crimson with a purple hue. Vibrant aromas of violets and spice with subtle plum notes and earthiness.
